So… I did a thing. I created a YouTube channel. OK, I know in another blog post I said I wasn’t creating any new platforms until 2026 but this one was calling my name. Hear me out though, I can upload videos without ever opening the YouTube app. Even though I never stopped watching YouTube I realized that I would much rather create than consume. I’ve have always loved creating content and videos since I was a little girl. Taking pictures and expressing myself through editing.
In March 2025, I was sitting at my desk thinking about how I can scratch this creative itch I have been feeling lately. Lately the urge to create content has been lingering in my mind consistently. Me being the spontaneous person I am, I purchased another camera (Sony ZV-E10) and started creating content. Now I have another camera… but I broke the screen on it and now I can’t see anything on it which sucks. Its a touchscreen DSLR with a swivel screen (Canon 6d Mark II), it doesn’t get much better than that.
While I was waiting for my new camera to come in the mail, I was thinking of the hundreds of new videos I wanted to create. I want to vlog my “The Artist’s Way” journey and my life without my phone series. The ideas are endless. One thing I really want to do on my channel is to try using South Florida’s public transportation. I know if you live in Florida that can sound a bit sketchy but I really miss the fun in traveling on buses and trains to go to places.
The Youtube Video That Changed My Perspective
I was watching this video on YouTube of a man who gave up his phone for 30 days. He had to live life the way they did back in the stone ages. You know… back when people had landlines. Okay fine, maybe that’s not “the stone ages” but it’s close enough. In his video (I hate my phone so I got rid of it ) he locked his phone in a box for 30 days. He printed out map instructions, watched movies, and bought a landline. Something about this mans video truly inspired me. I decided I wanted to give this a try.
Why I Created A Youtube Channel
So this brings me to why I created a YouTube channel. I wanted a creative outlet to express myself without the stress of social media. Sure, some people may consider YouTube social media because you can like, comment, and subscribe to people. But I like to view it more of an archive I can look back on in the future and a place I can share my videos with like minded people. Because lets admit it, you YouTube algorithm is the best out of any other platform.
I wanted to use this channel to not only create for myself, but to possibly build an online community of like minded people. Honestly, I want to help people and maybe even INSPIRE THEM! I know intense, right? So we will see where this journey takes us.
